Click here for archaeologyuk.org East Midlands Made with Xara Web Designer Council for British Archaeology Providing training has always been at the core of the Council for British Archaeology’s ethos, and CBA-EM plans to put training and the promotion of best practice at the heart of archaeology in the East Midlands. Community Archaeology Training Workshop: Lakeside, Nottingham, Saturday 22nd June 2019 This day-long training workshop, hosted by the University of Nottingham Museum, was held for volunteers and amateurs who are, or who wish to become involved in helping to organise archaeological fieldwork. It featured talks, practical exercises and discussions, and looked at how to run a community archaeology project from start to finish. The programme for the day can be seen below. This training workshop was viewed as a pilot event, to be repeated on a regular basis and made available as a format to regions beyond the East Midlands. An evaluative review of the day is given below. The merits of the workshop have been recognised by the national Archaeology Training Forum Awards 2020, with the workshop being Highly Commended.
